MEDITATION

Do you find yourself feeling tired and stressed – desperately keeping up with your schedule or others expectations of what you are supposed to do?  Are you reacting with anger and annoyance at the demands on your time?    Do you often wonder why   ‘others’   can’t realize how tired you are?

Meditation is   about   giving you time and space. The very opposite of getting faster and faster, trying to get as much done in as little time as possible. We try so hard to feel efficient by  attending to what we  think is  important.  But, it is this reaction or response that   often causes us to feel so overwhelmed.   

Instead of anxiety and worry, the practice of meditation enables  you to relax, feel calm and let go of the fight and flight response that just seems to be the norm.   Meditation is about finding   compassion, gentleness and peace.

During meditation, you will feel a sense of freedom to breathe deeply, gain a sense of ease, joy and relaxation. By practising meditation on a regular basis you will find you don’t react or respond with fear, worry, anxiety and anger but, are able to see life challenges for what they are - opportunities to realize your strengths, skills and wisdom. Instead of feeling exhausted by the demands of life, you are able to deal with everything in a more systematic way and be in control!

Ultimately, your change of behaviour will be evident to others and they in turn will respond differently to you. Your calmness will spread.    But, of course, this doesn’t mean that you won’t experience difficult situations ever again, but you will deal with them more skilfully, with wisdom, patience, gentleness and an open heart.
